How are 10 countries in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) navigating a year into the pandemic according to its citizens? What proportions of adults in CEE are planning to get vaccinated? Is the support democracy stronger or, on the contrary, did the sympathies towards undemocratic regimes and their practices rise? How do people perceive the imprisonment of Alexei Navalny or human rights abuses in China?
In partnership with Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL), annual GLOBSEC Trends report is providing an insight into the minds of Central and Eastern Europeans by offering answers to these pressing questions and much more.
The partner in this research and a lecturer at RGSL PhD Martins Hirss emphasizes: “This data provides a unique opportunity to compare Latvia with other countries in our region. This comparative study opens up a new perspective on the prevalence of the Covid-19 conspiracies and Russia's influence in Latvia, as Latvia's results is by no means the worst in the region.”

The opinion polling was executed in 10 countries of CEE on the representative sample of 1000 respondents per country (altogether 10,000 respondents), in Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
