The Board of Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) has agreed to award two scholarships for the best applicants to Bachelor programmes from Latvia’s regions also in the next academic year.
The tradition to give 100% tuition fee waiver for the first year of studies to the best applicants outside Riga and Pierīga was started this year, and the first two winners have already begun their studies at RGSL.
Paula Paidere, who graduated the Balvi State Gymnasium with average grade of 9.61, has a goal of advocating for Latvia in an international context. “Raised in Balvi, a small town 226 km from Riga, I believe, the more limited the opportunities, the harder one must work to create possibilities for growth. My community has been diligent in initiating invitations for the outside world to come to Balvi, and I have embraced studies/travels outside of my remote town internationally.”
Aiva Tālberga graduated Liepājas Valsts 1. Ģimnāzija with average grade of 8.86. Besides working as a volunteer in Liepaja’s many sports events, she was active in different study contests, was a member of the school’s debate team and was elected president of the school’s student council at her last high school year. “I wanted to challenge myself and test my abilities of taking responsibility and lead a team. I can say that I was not only able to do my best job as a president, but also improve my grades and learning habits.”
If you are on top of your class and from Latvia’s region – apply for the scholarship at Riga Graduate School of Law and join our international mix of students.
