Riga Graduate School of Law Class of 2021 graduation ceremony was held on 17 June in the school yard.
Congratulations to our graduates – the Class of 2021 - on your achievement! Big thank you goes to our thesis supervisors, faculty and staff for supporting the students throughout the process.
“The fact that you receive the diplomas certainly certify that you have obtained education from a reputable institution of higher education that will open many doors for you. But this is far from the whole story. Beside the diploma, beside all the knowledge that has been poured onto you, that you have received and absorbed, there is something equally important. In some instances, maybe even more important. You have gone through very challenging times. You have demonstrated tremendous resilience, loyalty and commitment, and you have been able to win over yourselves. I salute these capabilities, and I certainly wish that you retain them. Along with your diplomas these qualities will guide you throughout your lives, both professional and personal,” said RGSL Acting Rector Jānis Ikstens in congratulating the graduates.
“We came here to learn from distinguished professors and lecturers, to study together with passionate professionals from various fields, to challenge ourselves, to push our abilities and to advance our careers. And despite these extraordinary times we had to endure, RGSL still managed to deliver on every single one of these aspects,” said 2021 graduate of RGSL Law and Finance two year programme with disctinction, Mārcis Reveliņš, in his graduation speech.
“To our lecturers and professors, your passion for your field and your desire to share knowledge was engaging. Your lectures delivered an invaluable experience which has provided us with skills necessary in today’s market. Locals among us can be grateful to RGSL because we have access to international, great quality education right here in Riga. And the international students among us, I’m sure you have embraced Riga as your second home and that the culture of RGSL has played a significant role in this.”
“Life is a journey and all accomplishments we achieve during its course should be taken as starting points for further achievements. Our graduation should serve as such a launching point, projecting us to wherever our futures are meant to take us,” said Bachelor programme Law and Diplomacy graduate Gints Kapteinis. “We often thank and give credit to others, but we forget the most important person behind the success. It is none other than us. Let us take a moment my dear friends, to convey and thank ourselves. Every moment in our life, we are facing new challenges. But there is no graduation ceremony from the school of life. In our success over the challenges, no one will applaud like today. So, let’s make today's achievement meaningful.”
