We are proud to announce that RGSL Team, consisting of Bachelor students Patrīcija Bodniece, Paula Kellija and Elza Līva Averčenko won the national Human Rights Moot court organized by the Republic of Latvia Ombudsman’s office (Tiesībsargs) and received the opportunity to attend Utrecht University summer school course on human rights.
This year the case was about the COVID-19 pandemic and individuals right to freedom of expression and assembly. At the core of dispute was where the balance should be struck between individuals’ rights and the protection of the society in times of a pandemic.
The team's coach was Kristīne Gailīte.
We are also proud of our other RGSL Team, consisting of Bachelor students Aleksandra Aleksejeva, Sabīne Stirniņa and Paula Paidere, coached by RGSL Alumna Ieva Hūna, who successfully made it to the semi-final.
Congratulations also to our student Paula Kellija on receiving the Latvian Constitutional Court sympathy award, and together with Paula Paidere, the two students also received the sympathy award of lawyer Arvīds Dravnieks.
