RGSL team participates in the Helga Pedersen International Moot Court Competition Regional Rounds, taking place in Prague from 5 – 7 February 2025.
RGSL is represented by Annika Līze Valtere, Sabīne Grīsle, Beāte Bauga and Adele Sakoviča.
“As a team coach, I witnessed a beautiful transformation of these talented students – not just raw drafts evolving into polished memorials, but ideas growing into arguments and students becoming passionate researchers. Please join me in wishing them the best of luck!” says the team coach, RGSL Lecturer Anastasija Kaplane.
The Helga Pedersen Law Moot Court Competition simulates the procedure of an individual complaint to the European Court of Human Rights. It is organised annually by the European Law Student Association (ELSA) in cooperation with the Council of Europe.
This year, the moot case concerns the State's refusal to grant access to medical cannabis to a multiple sclerosis patient on compassionate grounds. The applicant alleges a violation of the right to private life, focusing on the right to health and the right to development.
The team will argue both the position of the Applicant and the Respondent in separate rounds.
