We are really happy to start the new academic year by welcoming our new Bachelor students on 2 September at the Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) campus.
This year we welcome 115 first year bachelor students from United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Nigeria, Finland, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine.
"I am honoured and happy to welcome 115 new Y1 students and 21 incoming Erasmus exchange students to Riga Graduate School of Law. Greetings also to our Y2 and Y3 students, as well as to our Masters students from Latvia, Albania, Germany and Pakistan. I would also like to congratulate all academic and administrative staff members.
Congratulations to all of you on the beginning of the academic year 2024/2025! May it be successful and rewarding!" says RGSL new Rector Dr. Laura Ratniece.
The new students were welcomed also by RGSL Director Ieva Rācenāja and Bachelor programmes Director Dr. Aleksandrs Potaičuks, as well as the President and Vice-president of the RGSL Student Association Nikola Meļko, Rūdolfs Riekstiņš, and other SA members.
“Today is a new beginning. Today you can start a new life, start setting new goals and start working towards them. The good thing is that nothing that went wrong in your previous studies in your high school or gymnasium matters anymore. All of you have the chance to become the best students, and the success of your studies is in your own hands. I would like to invite all of you now to make a promise to yourself that you will try to do your best every single day. It is important to have this agreement with yourselves. Because if it gets difficult, if in some mornings you do not feel like waking up early and coming to the first lecture, if you notice that you start to get happy with the minimum passing grades, remember this moment when you promised yourselves that you will try to do your best every single day,” says Dr. Ratniece.
“RGSL's curriculum is one of the most thoughtful and interdisciplinary in the EU. Our teaching staff are internationally recognised academics and professionals of the highest calibre. They will challenge you, encourage you, amaze you and help you develop in countless ways.
We are living in an age in which artificial intelligence is transforming our society and the way we used to live. In this age we see that self-discipline is becoming more and more important and we need to take care of our natural intelligence so that the artificial one does not deceive us. And this is what RGSL offers you!” says Dr. Potaičuks.
We wish all our students and lecturers a successful study year ahead! Welcome, Class of 2027!
