On 16 June 2021, the Study Quality Commission of Latvia adopted a unanimous decision on the accreditation of the Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) study field “Law” for the maximum term of the next six years. International higher education experts, employers' and students' representatives were involved in the evaluation of RGSL programmes.
All eight RGSL study programmes offered: the Bachelor programmes "Law and Diplomacy" and "Law and Business", the Masters programmes "Transborder Commercial Law", "Public International Law and Human Rights" and "International and European Law", as well as "Law and Finance", "Technology Law" and "European Union Law and Policy" received excellent and good assessment.
In the next six years, RGSL has set the priority to continue implementation of an interdisciplinary approach in the study and research process, as well as the promotion of research and innovation based higher education.
RGSL is the only higher education institution in the Baltics that offers an interdisciplinary approach in the study process in all study programmes, thus ensuring that RGSL graduates are competitive in the labour market, which is clearly proved by the results of graduate monitoring published by the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Latvia.
RGSL is currently preparing documentation for obtaining the status of a scientific institution, which will open the possibility to attract external funding for various research projects, in which students will also be able to develop their research competence.
RGSL thanks the academic staff, students, graduates, employers, as well as other cooperation partners for their contribution to the improvement of the study process. RGSL continues to consider open, inclusive and transparent governance as its horizontal priority.
