Riga Graduate School of Law congratulates RGSL faculty member Žaneta Mikosa on a successful doctoral thesis defence on 3 June 2019 at the Copenhagen University.
Žaneta was a PhD student in a joint PhD Programme launched by Riga Graduate School of Law and the Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen. The PhD Programme in Law with specialisation in International and European Law was launched in 2013.
Žaneta Mikosa thesis are titled "Implementation of Article 9(3) of the Aarhus Convention through an action popularis – challenges and limitations: Legal standing and the enforcement of environmental law". The thesis has been evaluated by a committee consisting of Professor Clement Salung Petersen (chair), Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, Professor Bernhard Wegener, Friedrich Alexander Universität, Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Professor Ineta Ziemele, Riga Graduate School of Law, President of the Constitutional Court of Latvia. Supervisors are Professor Peter Pagh, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen and Associate professor Dr.jur. Mārtiņš Mits, Riga Graduate School of Law, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights.
