In the wake of Latvia’s Independence Day, the Latvian Academy of Science a has released to the public a monograph exploring ‘the principle of state continuity as the legal basis for the restoration of Latvia’. The publication includes contributions from historians, lawyers, and political scientist.
RGSL’s Professor Ineta Ziemele has contributed to this flagship publication with two articles. The first article by Ziemele explores the continuity doctrine in the framework of international law whilst the second discusses Latvia’s international obligations.
The monograph is a joint effort of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers from the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia, RGSL, the Institute of Latvian History, and the Baltic Centre for Strategic Studies of the Latvian Academy of Science.
