On December 20, 2018 Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) held the 7th graduation of the Advanced Programme in European Law and Economics for 29 graduates from the Eastern Partnership and Central Asian countries and the 5th graduation of the Intensive Programme in European Law and Economics for 28 graduates from the European Neighbourhood Policy countries and the Western Balkans.
The graduates were congratulated by Ieva Rācenāja, Director of RGSL, Zanda Kalniņa Lukašēvica, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, H.E. Kristian Ødegaard, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Latvia, and Hans Daag, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to Latvia.
Representatives from both Programmes were invited to share their thoughts on the time spent in Riga over the last 12 (for the Advanced Programme) or six (for the Intensive Programme) weeks. Advanced Programme graduates, Tetyana Simchuk from Ukraine and Alexandru Musteata from Moldova, thanked not only the staff of RGSL and Programme donors but most importantly their coursemates who ensured that the discussions during lectures were thoroughly thought-provoking.
While the Intensive Programme graduates, Maja Stojanoska from North Macedonia and Sabuhi Rzayev from Azerbaijan stressed that the quality of the studies deeply lies not only in classes but also in the continuous exchange of thoughts and ideas between the participants which were provoked by the high-level lecturers.
The programme curriculum is set by the programme consortium consisting of RGSL, the University of Latvia, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and the Latvian Institute of International Affairs.
The Advanced and Intensive Programmes in European Law and Economics are implemented by RGSL and are supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, the government of the Kingdom of Norway and the government of the Kingdom of Sweden.
