We are happy to share that our graduate Francesco Mazetti has been awarded the prestigious scholarship by Italian law firm "BonelliErede" to continue his studies at the Cardozo University of New York.
Francesco Mazzetti graduated from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome with a thesis on "FinTech and RegTech: financial digitization and new challenges for regulators". During his undergraduate degree he spent study periods at Fordham University in New York and the Graduate School of Law in Riga where he returned after graduation to pursue an LL.M. in Technology Law benefiting from the prestigious Donato Menichella scholarship awarded by the Bank of Italy. Francesco graduated from RGSL with distinction in 2021.
He was admitted as a "Visiting Research Scholar" at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York for the next academic year where he will deepen his studies of the regulation of centralized digital currency, the CBDC, which raises important legal questions on the fundamental relationship between money, Rule and law, and how the CBDC will impact the financial stability of banks.
This year, the scholarship commission recognized the merit of undertaking particularly innovative studies from a legal point of view.
“Franco Bonelli scholarship is considered very important in Italy, and this achievement wouldn't be possible without the support of the RGSL staff,” Francesco says. “Therefore, I wanted to thanks all the RGSL family for helping me during this year.”
