RGSL together with the University of Versailles in France and University of Lapland in Finland will be carrying out an EU research project entitled "Legal Challenges in International Investments, Indigenous Peoples and Environment Protection".
The RGSL research team will consist of professor Ineta Ziemele, lecturer Ieva Miluna and professor Gudmundur Alfredsson.
The project, building on the specific case of indigenous peoples’ protection, will provide legal training on the fundamentals of international business law in combination with considerations for societal needs such as environment protection, sustainable development and the protection of vulnerable groups.
The EU project will begin on 1 September 2018 and will last for the next two years. The first project meeting will take place on 28 September at RGSL.
