On Thursday, 19 June workshop on LGBT families and their legal protection in Europe took place at Soros Foundation - Latvia.
Workshop addressed tendencies with respect to legal protection of LGBT families in Europe, development of case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the EU, and problems related to mutual recognition of LGBT families in different EU member states. Particular attention was paid to the situation in Latvia and the necessary improvements.
The opening speech was given by RGSL Prorector, Associated Professor Dr. Mārtiņš Mits, and the topics of the workshop were presented by the lawyer Evita Goša (LL.M.) and Dr. Kristīne Dupate, Associated Professor in University of Latvia, Faculty of Law, Department of International and European Law.
Workshop is organized by LGBT and their friends’ association Mozaika in cooperation with RGSL.
