The Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) in cooperation with Soros Foundation - Latvia organised the annual Discussion on Current Human Rights Issues in Latvia. It took place on 30 April 2014 from 9.00 - 16.00, at 4k-2 Strēlnieku iela, Soros auditorium.
As every year, the beginning of the discussion will be devoted to the recent developments in the European Court of Human Rights that are important to Latvia. Participants of the discussion will consist of well known experts:
- Dr. Ineta Ziemele, Judge in the European Court of Human Rights and RGSL Professor
- Dr. Mārtiņš Mits, RGSL Prorector
- Kristīne Līce, Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers before International Human Rights Institutions
In the second part of the event experts will discuss current human rights ssues in Latvia.
The annual discussions are well known amongst Latvian legal practitioners, academicians, civil servants, NGOs and policy makers. Thanks to support from the Soros Foundation - Latvia, admission to the discussion is free of charge.
