The official Cambridge International Legal English Certificate (ILEC) award ceremony to the RGSL students took place at the RGSL

Prof. Dr Lesley Jane Smith, Rector of RGSL and Agita Kalvina, Director British Council presented certificates to students.
The 1st ILEC exam took place in May 2008, and all 26 exam takers passed the ILEC test with very good results. The majority of ILEC exam takers were from Riga Graduate School of Law.
ILEC is an internationally recognised high-level language qualification for law students and practising lawyers. ILEC is developed in cooperation with TransLegal, Europe`s leading firm of lawyers-linguists It is recognised by leading associations of lawyers including the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers, and the European Young Bar Association.
Cambridge ILEC assesses English language ability at Levels B2 and C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). ILEC - aids legal employers with the hiring and training of personnel, and law faculties and language schools with the selection, placement and graduation of their students. ILEC is usually held two times a year – in May and November. The next exam will be on 15 November 2008.
“The Baltic Council for International Education” administered the ILEC exam. “The Baltic Council for International Education” is the exam Cambridge ESOL, IELTS ACCA, University of London, Open University, Manchester Business School Worldwide exams centre in Latvia.
British exams are very popular in Latvia, and every year there are approximately 2000 exams in Latvia.
