On 2 April Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) invited participants to the RGSL Spring Excellence School, where more than 20 students from secondary schools in Latvia met for the second session.
During the session, visiting professor Carlos Llorente talked about the profession of international lawyer, advising students to consider whether they want to become local or international lawyers. Later, he explained the importance of maintaining a profile as an international lawyer. He illustrated his input with a case study and lecture on “A Legal Tale of the Seas: Of Sinking Ships and Lawyers in the International World”.
In the afternoon, participants met RGSL alumni and International and European Law Master programme student Daniels Bondars, who explained how to hone debating skills to perfection. He also set an interesting task to show how debating skills work in reality.
Lectures at RGSL Spring Excellence School take place in an interactive learning environment, with insights into how law, diplomacy and business work in the real world, and where attendees can meet RGSL Alumni and discover career possibilities.
The next lectures will take place on 14 May. Upon completion of all three sessions, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation, as well as the chance to win a 10% discount for the first year of studies at RGSL.
