On 6 – 12 April 2014 RGSL team is taking part in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, in Washington DC. Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from over 550 law schools in more than 80 countries. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations.Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case.
RGSL team members are Edvarts Gaigals (Law and Business, Class of 2014), Rolands Žīgurs (Law and Business, Class of 2014), Marshall Blankenship (Law and Diplomacy, Class of 2014), Daniels Bondars (Law and Diplomacy, Class of 2014). Their tutor for the competition is expert in public international law, visiting professor of RGSL Tjaco Theo van den Hout.
The team will participate in the four preliminary rounds during the week. The finals will be held on Saturday.
