The 4th civil law moot court, organized by ELSA Latvia, was held on 2 June. This year for the first time also the RGSL team participated, and it was represented by the Public International and European Union law professional master program’s first year students Vladlena Rudusāne and Renāte Rūse and the second year student Laura Ratniece,
This year’s case was devoted to issues, related to the CMR Convention, jurisdiction and determination of the applicable law. RGSL team successfully solved the dispute between German and Lithuanian undertakings and was invited to the oral part of the moot court, where after four intensive and exciting rounds it got the second place. Furthermore, the member of the RGSL team Laura Ratniece was awarded as the best orator of the moot court, and she also got an award from the patron of the moot court – attorney at law Agris Bitāns – for an excellent performance.
Vladlena, Renāte and Laura would like to encourage other RGSL students to actively take part in the moot courts next year, because it is not just a great experience, but it is also a chance to practically apply and prove your knowledge.
