The RGSL has embarked on participation in a new research project 'European Universities on Professionalization on Humanitarian Action' (EUPRHA). This project has received a European Union grant.
The EUPRHA project aspires to create a Qualifications Framework for Humanitarian Action in the European Union, defining knowledge, skills and competences necessary for engagement in humanitarian action. It will also develop a European Map of Potentialities for humanitarian action and create a coordinated stakeholder at the educational level in order to respond more effectively to challenges in humanitarian field. The EUPRHA project is lead by the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain.
The RGSL lecturer Ieva Miluna has taken part in the EUPRHA kick-off meeting and Steering committee meetings taking place from 24-27 January 2012 in Bilbao.
This project brings together 32 European universities, which will be participating in drafting reports on potentialities for humanitarian action, Qualifications Framework and new trends in humanitarian action creating a platform of European universities to respond to global trends in humanitarian field. The RGSL will be a leading university in the work package on the Quality Assurance of the project assessing the internal communication and management of project as well as the quality of methodology of reports created within this project. The EUPRHA project will last for the next three years.
