On 21-23 February 2013, the European Law Moot Court (ELMC) held a regional final at the University of Neuchatel, where Peter Gjortler represented RGSL as a member of the panel of judges. The winning team came from University of Leuven, and while the prize for best advocate general went to a team member from University of Heidelberg.
Similar regional finals were held this year in Bruxelles, Leiden and Lund, and the winners from each regional final will meet in Luxembourg on 12 April 2013, where they will plead the moot court case in front of the judges and advocates general of the European Court of Justice.
The case concerns issues of EU competition law and the right of member states to take national policy concerns into consideration when applying EU law. This year, ELMC celebrates its 25 year anniversary and this will be marked amongst other with the publication of a book with cases and best pleadings from previous years.
