At the request of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) Prorector of RGSL, associated professor Dr. Mārtiņš Mits attended meeting of the Committee and its subcommittees to discuss amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia (Satversme), as well as the need for a mandatory referendum on it.
On 19 June, the Saeima adopted amendments of the Satversme in the final reading. The Constitution was supplemented with an introduction revealing the basic principles and values of the Constitution, which is considered to be one of the most significant amendments to the Constitution.
