On 10 October the President of Republic of Latvia Andris Bērziņš re-established the Constitutional Rights Committee. Egils Levits, RGSL Honorary Professor, will continue as a Chairman of the Committee and Ineta Ziemele, RGSL Professor, and Mārtiņš Mits, RGSL Prorector, will continue their work as members.
The Constitutional Rights Committee was established in 2007 by the former President Valdis Zatlers. The main tasks of the Committee include delivering opinions on interpretation of and amendments to the Constitution, promoting discussions and research about the Constitutional Law matters. The Constitutional Rights Committee also include Daiga Rezevska, Associated Professor at the University of Latvia and a Guest Lecturer at RGSL, Gunārs Kusiņš, Lecturer at the University of Latvia, and Lauris Liepa, Lecturer at the University of Latvia and a Guest Lecturer at RGSL
