Riga Graduate School of Law, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and other partners, offers the Advanced Programme for European Neighbourhood Policy Countries, Central Asia and Western Balkans aimed at public officials, representatives of civil society and academia from the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries, Central Asia and Western Balkans. The programme starts on 26 September 2016 and applications should be submitted by 4 July 2016.
In addition to the Advanced Programme, which covers 12 weeks, a new Intensive Programme, which covers 6 weeks, will be launched later this spring, with a programme start in the late autumn of 2016.
The eligible countries are set for each programme period. The eligible countries for the autumn of 2016 are: Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The programme is funded by the government of the Republic of Latvia together with the governments of Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and United States of America.
The objective of the programme is to provide training useful for relations between the international community and the European Union, on the one hand, and the ENP countries, Central Asia and Western Balkans, on the other hand, whilst providing a knowledge transfer based on the experience of Latvia and other donors in international relations.
The programme is offered free of cost for the applicants. Cost coverage for participants will include travel to Riga and accommodation during the 12 week period of the programme plus a modest daily allowance for living expenses in Riga. Travel and other costs will also be covered for study visits.
Applicants must supply the following through the online application:
- Motivation letter
- Description of present job function
- Curriculum vitae, covering at least 2-3 years of professional experience
- Copies of university diplomas
- Recommendation letter from current employer
- Confirmation of ability to undertake studies in English
A selection committee will review all applications, and results will be announced by 11 July 2016.
