The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Riga Graduate School of Law organized the lecture
„Basic Rights in the Triangle: Karlsruhe, Luxembourg, Strasbourg“
held by Prof. Dr. Andreas Paulus, Professor for Public and International Law at the Georg-August-University Göttingen/Germany; Justice of the First Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Paulus holds the Chair of Public and International Law at the Georg-August-University Göttingen/Gemany. Paulus teaches Public Law, International and European Law, Constitutional History and Legal Philosophy. In March 2010, Prof. Paulus was sworn in as justice of the First Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht).
In 2003/04, Paulus taught at the University of Michigan Law School as Visiting Assistant Professor of Law. From 1999-2006, he was assistant professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, where he also concluded his habilitation (2006) and received his doctor degree (2000). Paulus is associate editor of the commentary on the UN Charter (B. Simma ed., 2d ed.2002) and co-editor of the forthcoming third edition (in preparation for 2012). Furthermore, he is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Journal of International Law and of the Advisory Board of the Göttingen Journal of International Law.
