- “I liked the workshop where our own written texts were corrected. Also I liked the practical tasks. The professor was really competent and the materials were really good.”
- “The materials were very useful and will need to read them after the course also.”
- “I would definitely recommend this course to other colleagues.”
These are some of the reactions from those who attended the intensive course Writing for Law Professionals: Practical Approaches to Legal Writing in English, held at Riga Graduate School of Law on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning 13-14 November 2015.
Comments Karina Kulberga, RGSL director: “This positive verdict confirms that RGSL is correctly pitching its services at the continuing training needs of today’s law professionals. Effective legal writing is a vital skill of the complete lawyer and is arguably the main way in which outsiders measure legal skills. With English as the language of global legal communication, law professionals around the world now need to master these skills in the context of English as well as their own language.”
Adds Ksenija Levčenko, the course administrator: “We try to include other useful features so that our courses suit clients. For example, the course ran from 13:00-18:00 on Friday and 09:00-14:00 on Saturdayso that timing interferes minimally with the working week. Also, we issued certificates so that attendees can prove continuing professional training requirements imposed by the local bar association.”
For those who missed it this time, the course will run again in spring, 2016.
