On 9 January 2012 two prominent arbitrators and legal experts Dr. Susanne Kratzsch from Stuttgart and Dan Terkildsen from Copenhagen delivered guest lectures within the Bachelor course “Introduction to ADR”. The lectures covered the role of state courts in arbitration and the importance of careful drafting of dispute resolution clauses as well as current issues in the international commercial arbitration.
Dr. Susanne Kratzsch is a member of the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS), the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA), the Belgian Center for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI), the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), the Society of Construction Law (SCL), the Bankrechtliche Vereinigung e.V., the German-Swiss Lawyers´ Association e.V. and the German-Spanish Lawyers´ Association e.V. She is listed as Arbitrator with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. Publications on arbitration, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and plant engineering. She works as counsel both in ad hoc and institutional and court arbitration proceedings (ICC, DIS, Vienna Chambers, Swiss Rules, NAI) and the subsequent exequatur proceedings. Besides, Dr. Kratzsch acts as an arbitrator. Her practice comprises also advice and representation of German and foreign companies in the area of cross- border litigation and recognition and enforcement of judgments.
Prof. Dan Terkildsen is an Assistant Professor in Commercial Law, he is admitted to the Supreme Court of Denmark and he is an experienced litigator, member of the Danish and International Bar Association. In addition to domestic litigation, involved in international arbitration matters, especially within the ICC.In addition to his litigation practice, Dan also advises on commercial matters in general (especially within the field of employment law) and he sits on different company boards. Dan is listed by European Legal Experts 2010 as a legal expert within the areas of Dispute Resolution and Employment.For a period of 10 years, he was chairman of the Conservative Party in Copenhagen and had a seat on the party´s national board.
