On Friday 6 July Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) held its 14th graduation ceremony, which this year was for 38 Masters programme graduates. The graduation ceremony was addressed by Solvita Āboltiņa, Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, and Rector of RGSL, Professor George Ulrich.
This year there are 3 graduates who received diplomas with distinction - Anna Vladimirova-Kryukova (International Public Law and Human Rights programme), Jekaterina Kudrjavceva (International and European Law professional programme), and Nataļja Freimane (Legal Linguistics programme). 15 masters students received diploma with distinction.
As in previous years, a significant proportion (46%) of graduates of the highly acclaimed Masters programmes are international students. Studies at RGSL have been completed by students from Belarus, Croatia, Ireland, Kosovo, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and, of course, Latvia.
Rector George Ulrich remarks: „This year is distinct, since the alumni have organized a homecoming event. The graduation ceremony is supplemented with series of professional discussions where RGSL faculty members and collaboration partners evaluate the current state of the European Union. These activities signify that RGSL alumni, some of them arriving even from Asian countries, highly appreciate the RGSL family and wish to remain part of it!”
