Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) invites students to participate in the Summer School “European Union’s Fundamental Values in Times of Crisis”, which will be held at RGSL premises from 5 to 13 August 2024.
The summer school builds on the specific crises that the EU has encountered: the 2008 financial crisis, the 2014 refugee crisis, terrorist attacks in 2015 and 2016, COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It examines the EU’s approach to crisis management and the effect of the challenges on the consolidation of values.
The summer school will be organised as a study course consisting of lectures, seminar sessions and study visits. Lectures will be given by RGSL faculty members and international experts.
The course's final session is a debate, bringing together scholars, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss current challenges.
The summer school lasts nine days. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate of attendance and 4 ECTS.
We expect applications from Bachelor and Masters students with a strong interest in European Union law. Participation is free of charge. Based on their motivation, travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for a limited number of foreign students.
Please find the preliminary programme of the Summer School here.
The places are booked, but we still accept interest until 19 April 2024, 23:59 EET.
