Advocate General at the Court of Justice Maciej Szpunar will open the RGSL Summer School with a lecture on the EU law and the Internet on 1 August at 10:00.
“Legal problems of Internet constitute a good illustration of the phenomenon of lawyers tending to react to new economic realities with a certain delay,” says Szpunar. “To say in 2022 that the Internet constitutes a new technology seems a bit backward and outdated. We all use the Internet on a daily basis. At the same time, many legal issues pertaining to the Internet remain unresolved. We do not know how to deal with various infringements committed in connection with the use of the Internet. We do not know how to characterise some of the legal transactions concluded with the help of the Internet, that is, we do not know how to identify and define a proper legal framework. EU Law is no exception in this respect and it is worth taking a closer look at how the Court of Justice deals with such challenges.”
RGSL Summer School “International and European Law – the current challenges” will be held from 1–10 August IN LATVIAN, the classes will take place on workdays from 10:00-14:00, the first and last days taking place at the RGSL premises on Strēlnieku 4 k-2, while the rest being held online in Zoom.
