The winner of the first student research paper contest on Competition law organised by the ZAB PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal, Latvian Competition Council and Riga Graduate School of Law is Linda Lielbriede. She was the best among 5 finalists and received 1000 eur cash award from PwCLegal, internship position at Latvian Competition Council and ticket to the RGSL Summer school on International and European Law in August 2022.
Eight research papers in total were submitted for the contest, and 5 best papers were presented to the panel on 31 May on topics like control of mergers and acquisitions in the digital age, cooperation in the sustainable technology research, state Covid-19 support in the context of the Competition law and else.
The jury unanimously decided to give the first place and the main prize to Linda Lielbriede, 1.st year LL.M. student at the University of Latvia. Special RGSL awards were received by Samanta Lidere, LL.M. student at the University of Amsterdam, as well as to Patricija Bodniece, RGSL graduate and LL.M. student at the University of Latvia. “RGSL is glad to see that students are interested in competition law and would like to thank all participants for their hard work,” says Laura Ratniece, RGSL Assistant professor.
