We are happy to announce the 3rd lecture in the public lecture series in cooperation with Ellex Kļaviņš – “On Brexit and the future of EU-UK trade” by Dr. Holger P. Hestermeyer on 3 March at 16:00
Dr. Holger P. Hestermeyer is the Shell Reader in International Dispute Resolution at King’s College London. He has served as specialist adviser to the EU Select Committee and the EU External Affairs Sub-Committee of the House of Lords, was a Vice-President of the Society of International Economic Law, a Référendaire at the Court of Justice of the European Union and Head of a Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public and International Law, of which he remains a senior research affiliate. He has taught in the areas of international and EU law at King’s College London, UC Berkeley, in Heidelberg, Münster, Ferrara, St. Gallen and Santiago de Chile.
He was asked to give testimony and share his expertise with several parliamentary committees at the House of Commons, House of Lords, the Scottish Parliament and the German Bundestag. His research on trade law was awarded with an Otto Hahn Award and the ISUS prize, most recently he obtained a British Academy Mid-career fellowship. He is admitted to the bars of New York and Germany and counsels on international and EU law. Holger speaks English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
