Considering the context of armed conflicts, Mārtiņš Mits will discuss the application of the Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights by the Court embodying the principle of non-refoulement*. *Non-refoulement: a fundamental principle of international law which forbids a country receiving asylum seekers from returning them to a country in which they would be in likely danger of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion. Lecture will take place on 24 October, at 5 PM at Riga Graduate School of Law. Register here.
