RGSL is pleased to invite you to participate in a public lecture by Egils Levits, a Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union and Honorary Professor at RGSL who will speak about “Law, Technology and Democracy.” About the speaker Egils Levits has served as a judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union since 2004; before that he was a judge at the European Court of Human Rights. Egils Levits has graduated the Faculty of Law of the Hamburg University as well as the Department of Policy Sciences of the Faculty of Philosophy and Public Sciences at the same university. He has had an active part in developing the Latvian legal system and served as a Minister for Justice of Latvia from 1993 to 1994. He is an author of more than 130 scientific publications regarding matters pertaining to Latvia’s national law, administrative law, human rights, law reforms and European laws. He established the legal journal “Law and Rights” and served as an associate to the chairperson of the editorial board’s council. Event will take place on 6 April, 11:00 AM.
