On 6 May, 2014 the Associate Professor of the RGSL Dr. Ilze Ruse takes part in the international conference in Dublin, Ireland “Marking 10 Years of the EU’s largest accession: Reflections on the Future Political, Economic and Security Challenges of the EU”.
The speakers of the conference which is held in the historic Dublin Castle Conference Centre, represent policy-makers as well as the representatives of academia from the EU states that joined the EU in 2004. Dr. Ruse will contribute to the panel by delivering a presentation on topic: Taking advantage of the EU enlargement – dealing with the challenges ahead: Latvian perspective. Her contribution focuses on the membership benefits in Latvia, as well as outlines the preparations of the forthcoming Latvian Presidency in the EU Council in 2015.
The conference is organized by the Irish government and the Embassies representing 10 member states in Dublin, supported by the offices of the European Parliament and European Commission. Its objective is to create an exchange platform between the politicians, government officials, academics and experts to reflect on the effects of enlargement and to enhance the discussion on the future challenges in Europe.
