‘In and out of crisis. Liability management in times of negative interest rates and political challenges’
A public lecture by Jeurgen Klaus, Principal in the Funding & Investor Relations team of the European Stability Mechanism.
The lecture will cover:
– Liability portfolio management;
– Key legal topics arising in the context of negative interest rates;
– Crisis “triggers” and what has been done so far with some open challenges to tackle.
Speaker’s profile:
Juergen Klaus currently works at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). He officially joined the ESM as a Senior Funding Officer in January 2013, but he was already working in the team that established the funding programme for EFSF at the Bundesrepublik Deutschland Finanzagentur, which was initially responsible for issuing the EFSF bonds and bills. Prior to this, Jeurgen held various positions as a bond- and derivatives trader in private and semi-public banks for over 14 years.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management from European University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, Germany as well as being a Certified International Investment Analyst. Further, he is active in the academic fora both as a guest lecturer in finance at various universities and a current student of the Law & Finance programme at Riga Graduate School of Law.
